November Home Projects

Hello there!  November gave us a very busy month of inside projects we've been putting off for too long.  The first project took me to the basement to repaint the room that has been a lot.  It's been our school room, game room, movie room, and Sterling's room.  I had to turn the walls back to neutral to prepare it for its next use.  This room is extra large and has six walls to cover paint with.  It took ALL day!
I was sore for three days after, but it's all ready for it's next use

We picked out our floors that will be a project in a few months

Over the second weekend, Nick and I built two shelves for the garage.  Then on Monday I had Xander empty out the floor of our storage room, so I could build shelves in there.  It's been such a mess in there that it was getting hard to get things in and out.

I worked on building the shelves after school lessons

The next day I had it all organized.  Three weeks later it's still neatly organized!

We're getting rid of those giant bean bags...they're just too big.  And we need to put the ceiling back together, but it intimidates me, so I keep putting it off (since September!)  I don't want it to look like it was ever torn apart.

We made the room I painted back into a movie room.  We bought some really nice chairs and it makes going down there much more enjoyable.  They're heated and give a gnarly massage!

My last project of November has been waiting for me since spring.  The kitchen backsplash!  I bought the tiles back in the spring and had to work myself up to finally doing it.

I actually pulled everything out the day before Thanksgiving wanting to get it done, but after cutting a ton of tiles, I knew I wouldn't have time to get it all up and complete before I needed the stovetop the next day.  It was a good thing I waited until Friday.

Saturday morning, Nick helped me finish it.  I grouted it while he washed it up.  It was the perfect setup.  The project was complete by noon.

I love doing projects!  But they also intimidate me so it usually takes a lot of courage to get started.  I'm always glad that I did them though because it looks so much nicer.
