December things

As Christmas has come and gone and December closes out, we'll going to do an overload picture post for the month.  We had a relaxing month.  Drank lots of coffee, watched a ton of movies, played a few games, and ate a fair share of cookies.  December was good.  Very good.

I started December wrapping all the gifts we had

Sterling and I made a new truffle recipe.  It was amazing!

The kids made their annual gingerbread houses.  Although I couldn't find the traditional house, so they made log cabins.

Catching snowflakes on one of the rare sightings around here

The dogs all went to the spa and they gave them each a toy

I enjoyed my favorite lunch while preparing our budget for the new year

Nick had a birthday and he's not a cake fan so we made his favorite cookie, chocolate crinkle

We played a lot of games, poker is always in the line up

I made all the chocolate treats in one day.  Chocolate covered peanuts, peanut butter sandwiches, and pretzel kisses.

Sterling and I made the best sugar cookies ever!

We used the glaze recipe that was with the cookie recipe and I loved how it turned out.  Next year we will make a double batch of the glaze to cover all the cookies.

On Christmas Eve , the kids opened their gifts from each other

Xander gave Sterling the magic 8 ball she's been begging for, so this happened.  A sight that is very rare nowadays.

Christmas morning.  We have a 7 am rule and they still magically appear right on the dot.  Without an alarm.  But for some reason they can't wake up any other day without a million wakeup calls.  Christmas is so magical.

checking out their stocking stuffers while waiting for their old man to mosey in

They were happy with what the received

Lulu discovered there was a bag of dog toys and had to get the ball out.  She was successful

No longer a coat thief, hopefully!

Watch out, she's very protective over things that are "hers."  She's not sharing her Christmas gift!

Nick was very confused at why he's getting a new Xbox.  Because he already has one that works "just fine."  He received it because I was tired of him always complaining of the space being used on the old one, and the amount of time it took things to download.  A clue (to me) that it's time to upgrade!

We got a 3D printer and everyone is excited to print fun things from it

Most of my gifts.  Sterling made me a pink shawl and it's the best!  It keeps me so warm because I'm always cold.

He's set up for some epic stop motions

I hope December treated you well and you had a wonderful Christmas!
