Food Lately

I made our first batch of pumpkin muffins in September and they were delicious.  Sterling also made pumpkin bars last week.  It's been so nice having her in the kitchen with me.  Her confidence has grown and she's loving the ownership of the meals or treats she's making.  I love that she's taken the torch!

I made a fun school treat one day

I bought this bag of noodles to make Half Baked Harvest homemade spaghetti o's...but kept putting it off because of all the work involved.  So, lazy girl method...add some V8 juice!  So good!!

Sterling and I made Apple Cider donuts one Saturday morning.  Everyone loved them.

Food waste no more.  I don't buy lunch meat often because over half of it get tossed out.  So I decided to preportion it in a baggie to freeze.  We've already pulled a few baggies out and it's been perfect!

Fresh broccoli was on sale so I bought 4 heads.  We all prefer fresh roasted and I thought this would save the hassle when it comes time to using it.  Well, it didn't crisp up very well and my broccoli lover didn't love it...so I'll use the rest of it in stir-fry.  Green beans were also on sale so I'll use those in stir-fries or casseroles

I ordered more pantry items from Thrive.  I'm slowly trying to switch over a lot of our products.  Two huge boxes were a great start.

Last week I didn't feel like cooking much but I also didn't want takeout.  So I called it a sandwich week.  We had four nights of sandwiches.  BLT's, grilled cheese with tomato soup, breakfast sandwiches, and turkey bacon on Italian loaf.  On Friday we had pizza.  No worries, I cooked on Saturday.  I made lamb kefta meatballs with spicy marinara sauce (Raos Arrabbiata).  I forgot to make the pita bread to go with it, so I made noodles.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful weekend!
