Changes

Hey guys!  Bring your coffee and let's chat!.  At the beginning of January I mentioned how we joined the i9 Sports franchise?  Well, things have taken a turn and we made a tough decision to sell it back to them and end our commitment with them.  We still love the company and it's goal, but some things came up and we had to decide what to do.  Unfortunately, this was the result.  Let's talk about what lead up to this decision.

Since we had our house listed last summer, the lady who designed this house in hopes of selling her house and purchasing this one, has contacted our agent numerous times since we removed our listing.  We've always wanted to get back to the midwest, so having her come and show interest, brought hope that it is possible.  The problem is every time we entertain her showing up, she'll communicate for a week and then vanish for weeks.  Then randomly show up again asking if we'd still be interested in selling to her.  For awhile, we weren't because of taking on the new business adventure.

Then we had a family member hospitalized for awhile and the other family member needed more support.  So when crazy lady contacted us again in January, we thought about it.  Hard.  Do we entertain her again?  It would be nice to be closer to family so we could be within a days drive if any of our parents needed us.  So, we said yes.  Our agent let her know that we'd need to increase the price $10k since we just installed a fence.  Okay, no problem.

Because we said yes to this, we needed to back out of the franchise.  If this lady actually came through, we wouldn't be in the area to fulfill our obligations.  So we started the process with the company.  We knew of another franchise owner that was interested in our territory, so we contacted him.  He was still interested!  The company will still have someone in the territory.  It's a good area for growth with the youth.

Another week with crazy lady and then she's gone missing and hasn't responded to her agent or ours.  I'm beginning to think this lady is a scammer.  Why does she come back wanting to buy the house and then disappear?  We don't have to sell our house.  We actually love the house.  But, we'd love to be about 10 hours closer to family.  So we keep entertaining the idea of selling.  Maybe we should stop?!  Now, without any ties, it'll be a lot easier being flexible to her random inquires.  In hopes of getting to the midwest.

Until we have a contract in hand, we will keep making this house our home.  If crazy lady ever comes back, I hope she's serious and willing to pay more for all the projects we have plans for.
