Reflecting on 2023

As I was reflecting on 2023, I decided to choose 6 pictures that represented 2023 well.  It was our first full year in our new home and community.  It was a harder adjustment than I anticipated.  But, just like everything, we trudged through, and came out on top.

The first moment of the year that I think of is this tiny, yet not so tiny anymore, pup.  Oh my gosh.  What a handful!  She's really a sweet and wonderful dog.  But, being a puppy brings some wild and crazy energy!  I guess I wasn't ready for that.

The next moment is when Xander had surgery to close a valve in his heart.  Since he had this done, we haven't had any rapid heart beats, so we can now sleep a little more peacefully.

There was a lot of basketball last year.

We love the i9 leagues!

Next, we spent a lot of time on our new deck.  On 100 degree days, it feels about 80 on it so it was glorious.  It's been nice for the dogs as well.  We also completed a fence so now they can run down to the yard or chill out on the deck.  Which is Ginger's favorite!

Taking a family trip with our parents was a highlight of our year as well.  We missed Nick's mom because she declined the invitation, but we loved having the extra time with the other three.  Until the last 2 days when my mom got really sick.

We love cruising.  It's my favorite way to vacation.  Hopefully we can take a European cruise next!

Remember above where I said "we love the i9 leagues?"  Well, we decided to open a franchise with them so November (conference calls and setting up accounts) and December (work trip for in person classes + continuing account crap) were crazy busy with all that.  Right now our opening day will be towards the end of April.  If we can get some of our accounts set up correctly.  What a pain in the a$$ that's been!  It'll all be worth it in the end!

We had a lot of other fun moments as well.  From traveling, to going up in the mountains, taking field trips, to visiting friends, to making new friends, learning new hobbies, and starting a new job.

I'm excited for what 2024 will present.
Happy New Year friends!
