Christmas 2023

December flew by and it's already a few days before the new year.  Our December was crazy busy.  Sterling and I, along with my mom, flew to Tampa for a week for a business trip for me.  They tagged along to hang out after my days of meeting.  It was a great trip, but made December feel short.  After getting back from that trip, I came down sick again.  I've been sick on and off since the middle of October and I'm ready for all this dang illness to go away.

We barely did any school.  With traveling and someone always being sick, it was impossible.  We did start back up yesterday though and it was a wonderful first day back!

We did start December with our traditional gingerbread house making day.  Well, Sterling did.  I forgot to grab a picture of hers, but she's so thoughtful when she does her's.  Xanders (pictured below) he just did his to say he did his this year.  Are we at the ages of not really caring about traditions anymore?

Sterling and I started our holiday baking the Thursday before Christmas.  I wanted to make so much.  I guess I was feeling nostalgic this year?!
Day one baking...

Day two baking...

This day I tried all new recipes.

Christmas Eve

Annual lights polar express

All the presents are wrapped and stockings are stuffed

We all had a wonderful day.  We got everything we wanted the most

The joy on the girls face as she opened every single present 💗.  She was so grateful and gave a big hug after opening every gift.  I think it's funny how every kid is so different!

See the seat cushion on the far left above?  I didn't want to assemble her vanity on Christmas Eve, so I gave the cushion to see if she could guess what the heck that was.  It took her a minute, but she finally got it.  Then her and I put it together, rearranged her room, and she set it up.

They played hours of Mario Kart

Lulu loves her cat bed and Bella and Gingers toys.  She's a toy thief.

Bella doesn't mind as long as she can get all the sniffs and crumbs.

Ginger loved this bone.  But she doesn't get it anymore.  The next day she had diarrhea.  Dog diarrhea is the worst!  But she also got a giant ball with a rope through it.  She loves that (as does Lulu)!

I got a new vehicle and the pizza oven I've been wanting.  We, of course, had pizza for dinner.  It was really good and I loved how fast it cooked.  I still have some experimenting to do with it to get the bottom crust crunchy, but otherwise it's was easy to use.

Nick got the fire pit he wanted.  He hasn't assembled it yet, but said he'll have it up for New Years Eve.

We had such a good day...and week!
