Hello, hello! We got back from our fall break trip four days before Thanksgiving, so we opted to forgo all the traditions. I must say, I think this year was so nice and actually relaxing. Doing things we enjoy. Making things we enjoy, all while enjoying each other's company. I truly hope you had a wonderful day.
Our first photo with all of the dogs. It was quite fun trying to get Ginger to cooperate. Good thing Nick is strong, ha!
The night before Nick and I ran to Home Depot to buy a tree. After I got it fluffed, Sterling got to work on decorating it. I love that the kids (Xander in previous years) decorate the tree. I actually don't enjoy it that much. I also leave everything just the way they put it...which is probably why they are willing to keep doing it year after year.
Nick bought me this prelit wreath and although it's not center (because my elfa shelves are staying put), it makes being in my kitchen a little extra festive.
I started decorating Thanksgiving morning. First up was putting my village pieces out. I've had them for years, but never had the space to put them up. I've been so excited that this year they would come out of their boxes.
I'm not done decorating, but when I am, I snap some pictures. Here's a sneak peek...
After I was done putting the village out, it was time to head into the kitchen and start prepping our snack, dinner, and dessert.
My favorite holiday treat, a chive and bacon cheeseball. With sociable crackers. Always. Yum!!
Our vegetable tray
While I was preparing those, Sterling made her favorite apple pie. She's gotten very good at making this pie.
Then I got started making our dinner. We made an Italian Stromboli.
Perfect
Reality, ha!
Three is just too many, but it's so good!
Dessert was delicious as well
Playing with Ginger while Sterling and I cleaned up from dinner.
Did you have a nice Thanksgiving?
Have a wonderful weekend!
