Cruised through Fall Break

After competing 15 weeks of school, it was time for our fall break.  And we were ready!  We made our reservations in February, invited our parents to join us, and waited.  A long time.  Although Nicks mom declined our invitation to join us, we still had a wonderful time making memories with the other three.  We set sail on the Disney Fantasy, our second time on the Fantasy, and our third cruise.  I really believe that taking a cruise is the way to go.  It has fun for everybody!

This was the first cruise that I didn't come home with thousands of pictures.  The kids were older and one was doing his own thing while the other wanted to hang with her parents, for the most part.  Xander still ran around with his friends to get pictures with characters, but I didn't take one.  Not one!  It was so weird scrolling through my camera roll after the cruise.

This was the only picture I snapped where we were all together.  After we got on the boat, we went up to grab lunch.

Enjoying our balcony.  Our amazing host opened up all three room balconies so we could go back and forth. It was nice!

This cruise was good for our souls

We did crafts one day and then another day we learned to just grab the sheet and take it home to complete.  It was fun though even though we couldn't bring them back with us without them flattening.

We visited St. Thomas and Tortola.  St Thomas was by far our favorite stop.  There was so much to do and see.

One reason we enjoyed St. Thomas more was probably because we wore our suits out.  It was so dang hot and the decision made our day a lot better.

Castaway Cay is always our favorite though.  If the ship would only take us there,  Sterling and I would be happy.

We love the water activities!

Thanks mom for getting a family picture of us.

Our cruise was a 7 night sailing.  It was a great cruise...until night 5.  A few hours after we left St. Thomas the seas were rough and then all day the next day.  Day 6 was a sea day, but it ended up being a sit on your bed and don't move day.  It was rough!  My poor mom got hit hard and was out.  We think she also caught a virus because she was throwing up in the car on the way to the airport.  We felt horrible for her.  We had Sterling sit next to her on the drive (because she NEVER gets sick, joke was on us, she ended up getting sick) and poor thing sneezed the entire way home.  Sunday and Monday, she had a runny nose and sneezes.  Tuesday, Xander started coughing with a fever.  Friday I came down with a fever and runny nose.  This virus has been a beast.  Comes and goes when it wants.  Switching symptoms.  It's been a frustrating week.  Xander is better, he still has an occasional cough.  Sterling ended up getting sick again yesterday morning.  She had a high fever of 103.8.  Thankfully today, it's down, so we'll keep the medicine going.  Me...well my fever is gone but now I have the night cough that keeps you up and burns your throat.  I had to sleep propped up because I felt like I was dying.

I guess the third cruise was the one to break our streak of good sailings where we don't get sea sick or catch a virus.  Don't fret, I'd still go again and again.  But, I'd just make sure I don't have plans for the month after, ha!

Sterling and I are fighting to get better fast because we go on our business trip on Monday.  Which I guess we'll expect to come home with another virus since we're flying.

That's it.  Have a wonderful day!
