October Recap

Hello, hello.  I'm back for a recap from this month...since it's basically over.  I cooked our dinners a lot this month.  Which doesn't typically happen.  I find myself in a cooking rut and then we just have cereal or oatmeal because I don't know what to cook.  The weather started off cool, so it inspired me to cook.  I found new recipes and had a pretty successful month.  I was horrible at snapping photos, but they were all a success.  Some of our meals were: Crunchwrap supreme, fish tacos, Mongolian beef, BLAT's, Swedish meatballs, grilled chicken, baked spaghetti, barbacoa rice bowls, chicken shawarma, Italian Stromboli (pictured below), chili dogs, shepherd's pie (pictured below), zuppa toscano, fettuccine, tuna noodle casserole, beef quesadilla, turkey kielbasa hash, Salisbury steak, pork chops, chicken Milanese, and turkey bacon wraps.

Now that everyone's hungry and has some fresh ideas for what to make for dinner, let's move on to the rest of the month.

Nick and I had a business call that was all day long.  We have something big behind the scenes that we've been working on for many months.  But it's now coming to life.  In December I'll be attending an in person seminar, which I'm really nervous about.  Good thing I'm taking two of my favorite people with me...Sterling and my mom :)

We've also been working all the details of our upcoming trip.  We're taking the grandparents (that wanted to go) with us and we are all so excited for this time with them.

Sterling had an appointment an hour and a half away, so we took advantage of being away and went to Ikea and then went bowling.

It's always an adventure with this boy!  If you know, you know, ha!

The next morning we had plans to go to the pumpkin patch to grab our pumpkins for the season, but woke up to a flat tire.  Ugh.  When it rains, it pours.

I ordered an air compressor and received it the next day.  I also was able to call and make an appointment later in the day so I had time to receive it and then take the van in to get the tire fixed.

That same day we had contractors in and out of the house.  Because when it rains, it pours!  Thankfully everyone showed up early, my compressor arrived early, and I was able to get the tire fixed on time.

Last week, we finally got our pumpkins.  Not from where we wanted, but from a cute flower boutique downtown.  They had plenty to choose from and we picked out a lot.
Sterling was the only one who want to carve a pumpkin this year.  I forgot to take a picture of the front, but she made Michael Myers pumpkin.  And now that we had a darn heat wave last week, it didn't survive 😞

We gathered our supplies and Sterling assembled our halloween block party kit.  It was on Saturday and  we all had the best time getting to know our neighbors.

Xander and I also fell ill for a few days.  It was a 48 hour bug, so it didn't last long, thankfully.  The kids love that especially when its on a school day.  They had two days off last week and we had to miss Xander's cardiology followup appointment.  We'll be going this week though.

Have a wonderful day!
