Life Update

Hey, hey!  The extended silence was not planned.  So much has been happening that puts this little space of mine on the back burner.  Sigh.  So much that I've been holding in and keeping to myself.  So much that I wanted to share, but just didn't know how.  I've always felt that if I share things too early, things won't turn out how we're wanting them to.

Let's back up to July.  I had a huge order from Ikea delivered on the 7th.  But, we didn't assemble any of it.  We decided a few days before the delivery that we were going to sell our house to move to the midwest and be closer to family.  Our house went on the market mid July and we had a lot of showings.

Trying to homeschool and sell a house at the same time is a nightmare.  Plus three dogs.  We had it on the market for 5 weeks, and I requested we pull the plug.  It was getting too stressful.  We had showings every weekend and a few during the week.  Since we didn't need to sell it, we decided to take it off the market.
Now is when the unimaginable happens...
Two hours after we signed the paperwork to remove the listing, our agent called.  With what I thought was bogus information.  She received a call from the original builder of the home and they wanted to buy it.  Back story.  The couple that customized this house couldn't sell their home in time to close on this house so they had to pull out from it.  They were due to get an offer on their house (that they'd been trying to sell for 1.5 years now) that night.  If they did, they wanted to see if we'd be willing to still sell it.  Of course we said sure!  They received a cash offer, but the people that put in the offer wanted a bunch of things done to it.  After the attorneys review, they decided to move to decline that offer and move to the next.  Each of these offers were a two week wait.  Waiting.  Waiting.  Waiting!  So much waiting.  Needless to say, the second offer couldn't pass the attorney review (required for their state), so they put their house back on the market.  On Friday we finally got the official word that at this time they can't put in an offer on our home because they are having a difficult time selling theirs.
Friday was the worst day and the best day!  The worst, because we all really wanted to move closer to family, but also the best because now we can actually start living again.  There's no more limbo.  I woke up Saturday morning and assembled all of the Ikea delivery.

The shelf laying on the side went on the wall repair wall.  I still wanted to have that wall fixed before putting the shelf up.  I have six shelves in this room and put one in the office.  This was not at all how I planned to put them when I bought them, but I actually really like this idea to make a library room.  I can't wait for the room to be put together.

The kids and I took a field trip to Route 11 Chips.  It was so interesting to see the process.

On the way home, we stopped at Luray Caverns.  The stone formations were amazing!

We also took a five day break and rented a house with a pool.  As a bonus, we were able to visit with our friends and had the best time!  It amazes me how much being around like minded people can refresh your soul!

These three.  Keeping me busy.  I'm always outside letting someone use the bathroom.  Ginger gets spayed on Wednesday.  She's a crazy pup so hopefully this will help calm her down.  She loves her daily walks, treats, and torturing Bella.

We have a fun trip coming up and receiving our updated passports was so exciting.  We're already planning our trip for next year as well.  We love taking vacations, which is a huge reason why we choose to homeschool.

I'll be back later this week to give an update on Xander.  He's having an ablation done this morning to close his extra pathway in his heart.  If you're the praying type, would you please say a pray for him.

Have a wonderful day!
