We had such a beautiful day yesterday. Our temperature was above 80 and Sterling had been dying for the day she could dump water on her head. My rule for water play is above 80. She really wanted a huge bucket, but I compromised with 2 bottles, ha.
Xander plays it safe and drinks it the cool boys way
We finally bought another trampoline. But, the kids were disappointed when I told them we were waiting to put it up. Sure, it would have been the perfect day yesterday, but, these winds are crazy here. So we're waiting until we have the ground stakes to secure it. We get the stakes tomorrow, so as long as the rain stays away, we'll get it put up before Xander's basketball game.
We've also been deciding on some home projects. The first inside project will be tile backsplash. This is way harder than I was anticipating. In 2007 I installed a backsplash in another home and I do not recall the decision process being this difficult. I think I'm returning these samples and will try again until I get the feeling.
Our big project will be adding a gigantic deck onto the back of the house. We have a lot of big and FUN plans for the backyard. We're hoping they'll all be done this summer.
Today our temps go back down the the low 50s and we have a normal day of school. Nick has to drive into work today because we found out yesterday that the bus workers are on a strike right now, so buses aren't running into the city. Now this says: Welcome to VA! It's temporary, hopefully, so he'll try to gather a bit more patience than he usually has.
