Getting up early

Well after a long 10 months of rest and relaxation, hubby went back to work.  He had a short tease for three weeks but, today, he starts the job he wanted to begin with.  We'll have longer days ahead of us, but, it's what he wanted so we'll make it work.  While we have loved having him around for so long, it actually works well for me because I become paralyzed when he's home.  The kids and I are not productive in the least.  Why is it so hard to focus when the mister is home?!

The year he was in Afghanistan, I was getting up at five, preparing school, writing blog posts, getting ready for the day, and light cleaning.  All before the kids were up.  That year was really the best in productivity.  I'll now be getting up at 430, so he doesn't have to tiptoe around.  Some people might get upset about getting up so early, but I love it!  I love the quiet hum of the home (and the dogs snoring behind me, ha!).  Today I have the patio door open and the birds are chirping away.  I can't wait until we get a deck!  I just love having a few hours to myself before my kids wake up.  I can enjoy my coffee, write blog posts again, and do research.  I'm constantly researching something.  I'm also so much more patient and enjoy my days so much more when I'm up early.  I don't know what it is, but it really does work.

If you feel rushed and frazzled in the mornings, try getting up earlier.  It makes such a difference in attitude and my day. I still go to sleep around 10.

And now onto my day, we're going to be outside enjoying our heatwave.

Have a wonderful day!
