February Lately

Hey there.  It's Friday and I'm linking up with some of my favorite bloggers, Andrea and Erika.

We've had unseasonably warm weather here in Virginia.  Xander has been on a basketball team and we're trying to get him more comfortable on the team.  Nick and him have been spending a lot of time on the court practicing.  The warm weather has been making it easy to get out.  It's been Xander's favorite time of the day.  Well, maybe not, it may be the last last picture in this post.  It's definitely a toss up.  But, he does ask to go every day.

Nick quit his job because he is starting a position he wanted back in October.  It came available again, so he reapplied and they gave him another offer.  Basically the same offer, just new dates.  He starts that job next week.  He's excited even though his travel is a bit longer.

We had snow, finally.  Barely anything, so I woke the kids up knowing it'd melt before too long.  They were happy I did and went out right away and played for two hours.  It's been their favorite day of the month.

When Sterling and I decided to go to the park with the boys, we take a walk around the pond and creek.

School has been going great since moving Sterling to 6th grade.  It's been the most perfect switch that I've ever tried to make.  And I've made a lot of changes.  It's hard to figure out what's going to work and what's going to be a fail.  Let's just say there have been a lot of fails.
I'm also working on a lot of research right now for next year.  I mentioned a few blogs back that I was making a switch and boy am I ever.  We're going to move to a mix of Charlotte Mason style of schooling.  I've actually been researching and contemplating this style for over 2 years.  It took me two years of research to move to IEW, so I guess I'm a 2 year explorer before making a switch.  I'm still trying to figure out if I stick with FixIt Grammar, would we just be doing double grammar?  It seems like Using Language Well is very similar to FixIt Grammar.  I really like FixIt.  I'll keep researching.

Xander loves a good chemical reaction, so we pulled out the trusty volcano.  His favorite!

I took the kids to a Thai restaurant and seeing a robot bring out our food what definitely a favorite of the kids.

We rooted for the right team on Super Bowl Sunday

Enjoyed some of favorite foods

With coke floats on the side

Back in 2015 the kids and I made these peices of artwork...which lead me to make their Valentines cards.

Xander's favorite game right now.  I've only won once and we've played way too many times.  But I love playing even though I lose.

Have a great weekend!
