10 Questions I Asked My Homeschool Kids

Hey friends.  I wanted to ask the kids a few questions about our homeschool days and thought I'd share them here as well.  I like randomly asking them questions to see what they are thinking and if we might need to alter anything.  They freely share their thoughts when they don't like something, but I prefer to ask specific questions when it's random and not on a school day.  I wouldn't want their thoughts to be altered from a bad day.

I shall name no names ðŸ˜‚

What do you enjoy about learning at home?

Sterling: It gets done faster

Xander: One, you're nicer than most teachers, more breaks, schools more fun, and we can go on more trips without missing school

What is your favorite subject? Why?

Sterling: Math, because multiplying big numbers is fun

Xander: Chemistry, because it's fun because of the experiments

What is your least favorite subject? Why?

Sterling: Structure and Style (as she's laughing) because it's boring (she sure does give me a headache with this one)

Xander: Math, because I always struggle

Favorite thing that you do every day?

Sterling: Read

Xander: Art, but that's not everyday

What genre of books do you enjoy to read?  Who is your favorite author?

Sterling: Mystery/Thriller.  My favorite author is Kate DiCamillo

Xander: Comics.  My favorite author is either Dav Pilkey or Jeff Kinney

What was one thing you enjoyed learning about?

Sterling: Science, like the explosions

Xander: Rays and angles

What is something you would like to do better?

Sterling: Trying new things like winning races, getting good grades so I can work at NASA, or to be the president.

Xander: Acrobatics, but without a trampoline

What is something you want to learn more about?

Sterling: More history

Xander: MindBenders (he's such a whiz at brain puzzles!)

In your ideal day at school, where you have to do math and language arts, what would your day look like?

Sterling: Easy, bright. and peaceful

Xander: I would add chemistry, Mindbenders, FixIt Grammar, handwriting, and geography. (we already do the last three)

Well, some of these answers surprised me.  It's always fun to see where their little minds are at because I can start incorporating their interests into our lessons.  Starting in the new year I'm going to add history and chemistry, to fill both of their buckets.

Have a wonderful day!
