Last weekend we split the family and made it a girls/guys weekend. Nick needed to go up to the house for something, so I convinced him to just take Xander and Sterling and I would stay at the apartment. It was only for one night, but the quality time with each kid was perfect.
Sterling and I deemed our weekend to be a shopping weekend. She was on the hunt for a pair of boots. So we headed out to the mall, an hour away. Everything good is so far from us, it makes wanting to do anything not so fun. But, I put a smile on and off we went.
After we got home, we headed to the park, with her new boots on. She's obsessed with them.
After the park, we watched a movie, ate dinner, and watched two more movies, and she slept in my bed. Sterling loves movies and since it was her weekend, I let her pick everything we did. She had a checklist she made Friday night, so we made sure to stay on track.
While we were at the mall, we also went to Build-a-Bear and grabbed some Halloween outfits. Sterling dressed them up and we surprised Xander with a new outfit for his guy.
On Sunday, she wanted her hair curled and a photoshoot.
Lulu had to get in on the fun too.
We picked up Lulu a new bed for the living room and she's been cozy in it.
Back at the park having fun making obstacle course.
Playing Snap it Up! again
We then decided to take a walk around the ponds and as we were walking, we discovered a young alligator. We'd been wanting to see one since moving here {there are warning signs all around the ponds} but Sunday was our first sighting. After the guys got home, we took them down to show them.
So although I didn't get anything done that I'd wanted, I did get to spend quality time with my girl. All the other things could wait. It was a nice weekend.
What did the boys do? Well, they played X-Box nearly the whole time. It's a guy thing I guess.
